The Restoration Works Priority

Works on the restoration and reconstruction of the building of Flemmer's dacha and the observation tower on the territory of the former camp "Lira" in Bendery will begin next year. The Supreme Council adopted the corresponding amendments in the first reading to the state program "Preservation of immovable cultural heritage sites requiring urgent repair" for 2019-2023. The state budget for the work will provide an amount of over 1 million 300 thousand rubles. These funds were allocated by the program for the overhaul of the roof of the building of the Bendery-1 railway station initially. It was noted today at the plenary session that the building of Flemmer's former dacha is in an unsatisfactory condition. And if repairs are not started next year, this could lead to the complete destruction of the facility. It was decided therefore to redirect this amount for the restoration work of buildings in the former "Lira" camp. Objects require large investments. The first stage of work will be carried out next year.

The amendments were initiated by the Bendery City Council of People's Deputies. The relevant committee on education and public associations will continue to work on the law-in-draft adopted in the first reading.
