The First Meeting

23.01.2019

Members of “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal) parliamentary faction gathered for the first meeting of this year. They began their work with a discussion of the legislative initiative of the President, developed to adjust the provisions of the republican budget adopted in December last year-2019. It concerns the monthly allowance of judges, as well as pensions, monthly pension compensations to persons subject to the laws “On state pension provision for persons serving in the military, serving in internal affairs bodies, the penitentiary system, the service of bailiffs, tax and customs bodies, and their families” and “On pension benefits for prosecutors with high-ranking officials and their families in Pridnestrovie”. Limits for these purposes were provided for earlier in the law on the republican budget. “Renovators” voted unanimously to support the presidential initiative.

They made the same decision regarding the approval of the budget estimates for the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank for this year. Recall that this was not possible at the final plenary session of the autumn session, during which a number of amendments were proposed to the Supreme Council decision. Already this year they were considered by deputies of the relevant parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance and recommended for rejection. Members of “The Obnovlenie” faction adhere to a similar opinion, which suggests that today the central bank’s estimate will be approved by the deputies.

The subject of discussion was also the legislative initiative of members of the faction of deputies Igor Buga and Ruslan Gareev. They proposed to adjust the norms of the Electoral Code to eliminate the gap in the legal framework of the republic associated with the use of a portrait of an individual for campaigning purposes. When holding elections, a referendum is proposed to prohibit the use of the image of an individual in campaign materials without his consent. In this case, however, there are exceptions - this is when these images were obtained during public events of public nature.

The law on making an amendment to the Law “On Information, Information Technologies and Information Protection”, prepared for adoption in the second reading, was presented to colleagues by the head of the responsible committee Igor Buga.
