The first visit to the Supreme Council of Pridnestrovie of the new Ambassador of Germany to Moldova

Pridnestrovie was visited today by German Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Margret Uebber, who took office in August this year. The Parliament Speaker Alexander Korshunov received the German diplomat in the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The German Ambassador to Moldova noted at the beginning of the conversation that the purpose of the trip was to learn information about Pridnestrovie, hear it firsthand and get to know people. The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic noted in the course of the meeting that many norms of the laws of Pridnestrovie are based on the current European charters, including those related to local self-government and human rights. They spoke during the conversation about the life of Pridnestrovians and about the concern that currently exists in Pridnestrovian society, including in connection with external circumstances.

The Speaker of the Pridnestrovian Parliament recalled in a conversation with the German Ambassador to Moldova Margret Uebber that that a big step in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian dialogue was made during the OSCE chairmanship of German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Alexander Korshunov noted that the German diplomat supports the position of peace on both banks of the Dniester and the development of dialogue between Moldova and Pridnestrovie.
