Angela Gunninger, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Moldova, made her first visit to Pridnestrovie. Within the framework of the study visit, she met with the President of the Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, in the Foreign Ministry, and with the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba.
Angela Gunninger was appointed to the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Moldova just a month ago, on September 20. At the same time, her track record inspires respect: she has worked in the diplomatic missions of Germany in the Republic of Cyprus, in Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Israel, Greece, the German representation in the European Union, in Brussels, the German foreign affairs agency. The professional specialty of an experienced diplomat is economics, which she studied at the University of Hagen, as well as in Romania (the city of Constanta).
Having informed the diplomat that he happened to be in Germany, the speaker drew attention to how in this country they are trying to preserve their identity. Pridnestrovie always strives for this.
The German diplomat thanked for the warm and cordial welcome, noting that personal contacts, in addition to official ones, play an important role in establishing relations between different countries.
The official representative of Germany was interested in the role of parliamentarians in the negotiation process, which takes place in the generally accepted “5 + 2” format, current issues of economic, business and social development.
The interlocutors discussed investment opportunities in the Pridnestrovian economy. In this regard the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba informed the German diplomat about the adoption by the Parliament a package of laws on state support of investment activities, as well as on the efforts undertaken by government authorities of the Pridnestrovian Ministry to attract investments, create attractive conditions for investors not only at the legislative level, but also practical terms. Particularly, the speaker highlighted the uniqueness of Pridnestrovie, which is geographically located between the East and the West and has foreign economic ties with both European and Eurasian markets.
