The First Edition of the New Year

To readers received the first in this year edition of the newspaper "The Councils of the People" - the official organ of the legislature of the republic. The third edition in a row we are paying very close attention to the work of parliamentarians on the main financial document of the year - first law-in-draft on the national budget 2015-2017, and then the law - because of the fact that the president has imposed veto on some of its rules. The article on this subject entitled "Unfortunate Position looks for Budget?" is published in the January issue. It is expected that, we again return to this topic in the future edition of the newspaper, because when the January issue was sent to the printer, the deputies have not yet begun to discuss the law vetoed by the President.

The law-in-draft of deputies Vladimir Bodnar and Oleg Khorzhan found great public interest, the essence of which not to use the Unified State Examination (USE) as the only form of state final certification of students. To be Unified State Examination or not to be? Participants of parliamentary hearings in the legislature held on the subject previously looked for the answer to this question. Activity of deputies is not limited by legislative, only within the walls of Parliament. That is why they are called - the people’s deputies. Many of them are members of political parties, social movements, humanitarian organizations and foundations. They are doing their best to help people. The last page of the January issue of "The Council of the People" describes such charity event of Pridnestrovian "The Lions Club", whose members are active members of not only the Supreme Council, but also of local councils as well. The material has the name that speaks - "The Lions" to the rescue".

Permanent columns "From the history of parliamentarism", "Anniversaries", "News of legislation - in brief" are included to the first issue of the new year. The latest publication - is about the decisions taken by lawmakers during the last plenary session in January.
