It is proposed to enshrine the transfer of students from fee-based education to the budget in the law

27.11.2024

The mechanism for transferring students of universities, technical schools and colleges from fee-based education will be regulated at the legislative level. The corresponding legislative initiative was developed by deputies of the Education Committee Igor Buga, Andrey Safonov and Pavel Shinkaryuk. The changes and additions to the Law "On Education" and the Law "On Higher and Postgraduate Professional Education" were considered by the deputy corps at today's plenary session in the first reading

The legislative initiative of the deputies assumes that specific cases, as well as a detailed procedure for such a transfer, will be established by the Ministry of Education of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The new rules will be the same for all professional education organizations.

Let us recall that according to the provisions of the Law "On Education", budget graduates must work in their specialty for 1 to 3 years after receiving their diploma. However, the draft law of the deputies assumes that for students who transferred to the budget in the process of obtaining a specialty, the period of mandatory work will be shorter – no more than half of the period established for students who study on the budget from the first year. The exact period of mandatory work will be determined by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the relevant resolution. Parliamentarians supported the initiative of their fellow deputies in the first reading at the plenary session. Work on the legislations will continue in the relevant Committee, taking into account all the comments and suggestions made.
