The 28th meeting of the VIII session of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic of the VII convocation was held in the plenary hall of the Pridnestrovian Parliament on June 9. There were only 4 items on the agenda – a package of legislative initiatives that amend the Constitution, the Electoral Code and laws regulating the activities of local authorities. The deputy corps adopted them in the final reading unanimously.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov, concluding the plenary session, announced the closure of the VIII session of the VII convocation. According to the Rules of Procedure, the Supreme Council is convened for two regular sessions during the year. The spring session begins in January, the autumn session begins in September. During the session, plenary sessions of the Supreme Council, meetings of the Committees and the Presidium are held. However, the parliamentary session cannot be completed during the period of such a special legal regime according to the law "On special legal regimes". The total duration of the state of emergency (with extension) should not exceed 6 months throughout the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The state of emergency economic regime due to the reduction and termination of natural gas supplies was introduced in Pridnestrovie on December 11, 2024. The state of emergency in the economy was extended 5 times, its effect ended on June 8.
The VIII session of the VII convocation officially closed under the anthem of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, which was played in three languages: Russian, Ukrainian and Moldovan.
On June 11, the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic will open the IX session of the VII convocation. The decision on this was made at a meeting of the Presidium of the parliament on June 3.
