Education and social protection system salaries will increase by 25% from the 1st of February. Doctors, nurses and orderlies will receive increased salaries in April. Deputies of the Supreme Council adopted amendments to the law on the republican budget for 2024 in the first non-final reading.
The legislative initiative was prepared by the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic after the Message of the PMR President to local and administrative authorities announced in January, in which the Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the necessity to making such a decision. Amendments to the current budget law provide for an increase in planned limits for wages for teachers and employees of healthcare institutions at the expense of the balances of the 2023 budget and the redistribution of funds among budget funds.
Teachers will receive in March the salary for February that is a quarter more than in January. This will happen due to an increase in the estimated level of the minimum wage (from 9.4 rubles to 11.8 rubles per 1 minimum wage), which will lead to an automatic recalculation of both salaries and bonuses, the chairman of the relevant parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs noted in an interview with journalists. politics, budget and finance Victor Guzun.
As for the healthcare system, their wages will increase from April 1. It is planned to allocate approximately 117 million rubles from the republican budget for these purposes. All medical institutions in the republic (with the exception of dental clinics and sanitary-epidemiological stations) will have to switch to a pilot salary project from April 1. Following the example of the Republican Clinical Hospital, which has been operating this way since July 2023.
As Minister of Healthcare Christina Albul noted, wages will increase for 7946 staff members. Deputies of the Supreme Council were interested in how the wage increase would proceed from a technical point of view. This, they say in the Ministry of Health, will depend on the level of medical institutions. The largest increase is expected in healthcare institutions at the republican level. The Government must create regulations that will regulate pilot salary projects in the healthcare system.
Parliamentarian Andrei Safonov noted that the republic may face a shortage of personnel in rural areas in this case.
However, the head of the department does not share such doubts among parliamentarians.
The Parliament adopted in the first reading amendments and additions to the PMR Law “On the Republican Budget for 2024”. It is planned that deputies of the Supreme Council will consider the legislative initiative in the second final reading, at the next plenary meeting, which will take place on February 27.
