In memory of the battle brotherhood

The Memorial of Glory was opened to soldiers-internationalists and defenders of Pridnestrovie in Rybnitsa. The majestic stele, eight meters high, framed by a five-pointed star, was erected in place of a commemorative sign established 12 years ago. There are 40 granite slabs with the names of those who died heroically, fulfilling their military duty in Afghanistan, and those who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence of our republic.

The solemn opening ceremony, as promised by the creators of the Memorial, was held August 1, on the nationwide Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, on the 25th anniversary of the end of the war on the banks of the Dniester. The honorable mission of the monument was carried out by the president of the republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, parliamentarian and chairman of the Republican Association of Veterans of War in Afghanistan Igor Buga, chairman of the Union of defenders of Pridnestrovie Vladimir Buchka, city leaders.

Chairman of the Association of Afghan Veterans Igor Buga emphasized the importance of the appearance of such a memorial complex in Rybnitsa. It was built on national means.

The Chairman of the Union of Defenders of PMR, Vladimir Buchka, thanked everyone who participated in the creation of the Glory Memorial in honor of the heroes of the two wars.

Active members of the Glory Memorial were the deputies of the Supreme Council representing the residents of Rybnitsa. Vadim Kravchuk noted that this is a landmark event for residents of the city.

They laid flowers in memory of the fallen soldiers on the erected Memorial of Glory.
