Commemorative events were held in towns and districts of Pridnestrovie

Afghan soldiers who carried out their international duty in 1979-1989 are remembered all over the republic today. Deputies of the Supreme Council took part in the events dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

State awards were presented to Afghan soldiers in Dubossary today. Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media Igor Buga presented the Order of Honor to Nikolai Marenyuk and the medal "For Labor Valor" to Andrey Bogutsky.

The meeting in Slobodzeya traditionally took place at the arch of the Memorial of Glory. More than 200 residents of the Slobodzeya region went through the Afghan war, 8 of them did not return home. The memory of the soldiers-internationalists was honored by the leaders of the town and the district, the deputy of the Supreme Council for constituency No. 21 Pavel Shynkaruk, the soldiers-internationalists, representatives of labor collectives and the public. The meeting participants laid flowers at the memorial sign.
