Laying flowers at the Eternal Flame of the Glory Memorial at dawn on June 22 has already become a tradition. This year the ceremony in the capital was held under quarantine measures, which are still in our republic. The first persons of the state came to the memorial to honor the memory of soldiers and civilians who died during the Great Patriotic War.
The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted in his address, that the past is honored in Pridnestrovie. Our citizens absorbed the history of Russia, the Soviet Union and are its successors. Great attention in our republic is paid to preserving the memory of those who defended us, who gave their lives for the freedom of this land.
The Parliament Speaker emphasized that the history of the Great Patriotic War is inseparable from the history of Pridnestrovie. Soldiers of the Red Army have repeatedly shown courage, unwavering will, courage and heroism on our land. Thousands of soldiers are buried in the mass graves of the Pridnestrovian land, thousands are considered missing.
The memory of the Great Patriotic War, its political, social, historical heritage is especially important today to stop any attempts to rewrite history. The current generation has a responsible task - to preserve the memory of the events of those years and a sense of involvement in the history of the Motherland, respect for heroism, the dedication of fathers and grandfathers who defended freedom and independence.
