“The Obnovlenie” party acted as the organizer of the round table "My memory - Afghanistan". It was timed to the 28th anniversary of the Soviet troops withdrawal. Members of youth organizations, students, school children, journalists and elected officials - deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva, a deputy of the Moscow City Council Elena Soboleva took part in it. Honorary guests were the participants of the Afghan events - warrant officer signaller Nellie Irgizova and the captain of medical service, a military doctor Lydia Ryabtseva. Both residents of Tiraspol went to the war in Afghanistan in the early thirties.

In an informal setting, they shared memories of youth, "a woman's appearance" of the Afghan war, showed the old black-and-white photographs, newspaper clippings of the Soviet past. It is a pity that from the far south 15051 "cargo-200" has been delivered. These sacrifices were not in vain. It was then still the Soviet Union stood in the way of the emerging international terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism. Today, Russian soldiers opposed it in Syria.
