Soviet troops were brought to Afghanistan 39 years ago - a decade-long Afghan war began. About 15 thousand Soviet citizens died in a foreign country. Members of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, led by their leader, deputy of the Supreme Council, Igor Buga gathered at the capital Glory Memorial to pay tribute to the memory of those who fell in that war.
The internationalist warrior says that over the years there is less and less chance of finding the missing servicemen, but this work is being done. The chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of the war in Afghanistan wished his comrades, the youngest of whom are already 50, health, well-being and optimism.
After almost forty years, the researchers of history argue: whether that far now war was needed or not. Historians argue, but “Afghans” remember. Those who "did not return yesterday from the battle".
The scarlet carnations laid at the monument to the internationalist warrior and on the cold granite slabs at its base were a sign of immense gratitude for the military feat of colleagues and brothers in arms. There are the names of Tiraspol citizens who died in Afghanistan on them. Their memory will be worthy!
