The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky initiated amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses. The reason was numerous complaints from citizens about drivers of cars and motorcycles who create noise, especially at night, and interfere with rest. Excessive noise is created by vehicles with a modified exhaust system, the official representative for the President's law-in-draft Radion Chebotar told deputies. The President proposed tightening administrative liability for driving a vehicle with a knowingly faulty exhaust system.
The official representative added that the converted exhaust system is visible visually. The fine for this will be from 10 to 15 minimum wages (184 - 276 rubles).
The relevant Committee on Legislation, Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens supported the presidential law-in-draft. Deputies of the Supreme Council voted to adopt amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses in the first reading. Work on the law-in-draft will continue as part of preparations for the second reading, taking into account comments and suggestions.
