Responsibility for officials for violation of public procurement procedures

01.11.2023

Parliamentarians Viktor Guzun and Vadim Kravchuk propose to introduce liability for non-compliance with the law “On Procurement”, which was adopted in 2018. This law regulates a comprehensive mechanism for the implementation of procurement activities in relation to goods, works, services to ensure state, municipal and commercial needs for the transparency of such procurement, the prevention of corruption and other abuses in the field of control over the expenditure of funds. These norms were introduced gradually. It is necessary to introduce penalties for its violation, according to deputies. This is not in the legislative environment of Pridnestrovie today.

The changes are planned to be made to two legal acts at once – the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code. Parliamentarians voted in the course of the plenary session to approve them in the first reading.

Deputies together with representatives of the Government will in the course of the second reading spell out exactly what penalties will be provided for officials who violate the procurement law.
