Before the next anniversary of the creation of the PMR as before the New Year, the President holds the final press conference. A distinctive feature was the invitation to it as guests of the heads of the legislative and executive branches of Government - Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, vice speaker of the parliament Galina Antyufeyeva, first deputy prime minister Tatyana Kirova. More than fifty journalists were accredited to the pre-holiday press conference. As always, the dialogue between the President and the media was open and frank, there were no forbidden topics for joint discussion.
Issues related to the international agenda were also traditional. The head of the republic, in particular, once again stated that Pridnestrovie supports the existing “5 + 2” negotiation format, since within its framework Pridnestrovie has the opportunity to express its position and solve problems of social, humanitarian, economic nature in the interests of Pridnestrovian citizens.
In this regard, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed his readiness to meet with Moldovan leaders, including Prime Minister Maya Sandu, but the practical result and the effectiveness of such dialogues are important.
The recent visit of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoygu to Pridnestrovie could not remain without the attention of journalists. The official representatives of our republic discussed with the head of the Russian defense department the peacekeeping and the fate of the ammunition stored in the OGRV warehouses - some of them expired.
The President considers the implementation of the provisions of the development strategy of the republic as main task for the second half of the presidential term.
In the course of the press conference, journalists touched on the current topic of transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. On January 1, 2020, the existing contract between Russia and Ukraine expires, but there is no new document. In this regard, the republic is preparing for various scenarios. In particular, a number of legislations on gas transit are under development, which will be considered by the Supreme Council this fall. They will provide for a different set of algorithms for possible actions.
Continuing the theme of economics, the President noted that there are no grounds for devaluation of the Pridnestrovian ruble in the republic, since there was a positive ($ 31 million plus) balance between the purchase and sale of foreign currency. That is, there is more money to offer in the domestic foreign exchange market than to demand.
The state program of entrepreneurship support adopted by the Supreme Council for three years with a funding volume of 3.6 million rubles takes real shape. In recent years, the share of small business in the country's GDP has grown, which is now approaching 15%. To support small businesses, including those starting their own business, a special budget fund has been created. The development of entrepreneurship, concessional lending to startups is also an obstacle to labor migration.
