The President held regular Open History Lesson. The topic “The Great Patriotic War 1941 – 1945” was chosen in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Pridnestrovian land from the Nazi invaders and on the eve of Victory Day.
The event was held in the Large hall of the Palace of the Republic. The audience was more than seven hundred people. Mostly – Pridnestrovian high school students and initial year students of secondary and higher education institutions.
There were history teachers, as well as officials representing various public and administrative authorities of the republic among the guests. The event was attended by the Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, his deputy Galina Antyufeeva and parliamentarians.
Those present were presented before the start of the history lesson with a theatrical production of the beginning of the Second World War, in which schoolchildren dream of the future, but the plans are destroyed by the war, according to the plot. Vadim Krasnoselsky voiced the chronology of the tragic and great events of the Great Patriotic War then. The Immortal Regiment “marched” on the stage of the Palace of the Republic at the end of the event – the President and Suvorov soldiers held in their hands portraits of participants in the war of 1941 - 1945. “The Victory Day” song was played, and the entire hall stood and sang along to the well-known lines.
The Open Lesson was held within the framework of the “Dialogue on equal terms” republican project of the PMR Education Ministry with the support of the Pridnestrovian historical portal.
