The Report of the State Service on Sports for 2022

The Leather Ball is one of the projects implemented in Pridnestrovie since 2019 on behalf of the President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The qualifying stage of the republican football tournament was held in the autumn of last year. 442 teams from cities and regions participated in total, which is 10 teams more than in 2021. There are more girls' football teams, which is a positive moment, - said the Head of the State Service Board for Sports Vyacheslav Sokolenko in the course of online meeting. The most active was Slobodzeya among the districts of the republic, which formed 137 teams. Such results were achieved thanks to the opening of two football sports schools on the initiative of the President: republican in the village of Chobruchi, municipal in the city of Slobodzeya, according to the Head of the State Service for Sports. The second final stage of the Leather Ball will be held in April this year.

The Collegium discussed the implementation of another project "Football to School". It started in 16 schools of the republic on September 1, 2022 for primary school students. The main goal is to attract more children to this sport, especially girls.

The Head of the State Service for Sports Vyacheslav Sokolenko said that sports grounds were built in cities and regions for physical education and sports and for training athletes last year.

Repairs were carried out during the reporting period in many sports schools throughout the country. The Head of the department focused on the work carried out at the expense of the Capital Investment Fund. For example, sports equipment and furniture were purchased for the republican sports school for children and youth of the Olympic reserve in football. The Capital Investment Fund 2022 included such an object as the construction of a new water supply route to the Olympic Reserve School. Design documentation for the construction of a sports complex in the town of Slobodzeya was completed, and a mini-football field was built in the town of Rybnitsa at the expense of the Fund.

The State Sports Service held 123 championships and championships of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in 23 sports last year. More than 6700 sportsmen totally participated. There were 15 competitions among sportsmen with special needs: chess, checkers, mini-football, goalball, table tennis, athletics, swimming, volleyball. As part of the "Equal Opportunities" State Target Program, training programs for Paralympic sports were introduced.

Speaking about the implementation of the Law “On State Support for Young Families in Acquisition of Housing”, Vyacheslav Sokolenko said that two employees of institutions subordinate to the State Service for Sports received a state subsidy last year. Pridnestrovian State University provides 10 state-funded places for graduates of the Olympic Reserve School in the 2023-2024 academic year. They will receive higher professional education free of charge.

A proposal was made after listening to the report to the State Service - to develop ideas for involving more Pridnestrovians in sports on behalf of the Government.
