The State Duma has completed the longest session during 20 years, the website of the lower house of the Russian parliament reports. Earlier, the deputies extended their work until the end of July. As a result, the spring session lasted seven months.

The Speaker of the Russian parliament Vyacheslav Volodin said that to implement the message of the Russian President to the Federal Assembly, 44 laws were passed, 18 deputies are going to study 18 more documents in the fall. According to him, during this time the parliamentarians not only took "important decisions" of today, but also considered "the legislations that have been in the State Duma since 1994".

As it was expected, the first plenary meeting of the State Duma in the autumn session will be held on September 11.

The spring session was concluded by the Federation Council. The Speaker of the upper house Valentina Matvienko noted that during this time the senators approved 343 laws and sent over 90 legislations for consideration to the State Duma.

The most important, according to the speaker of the Federation Council, were the laws on counter-sentences, the extension of the deposit insurance system to micro and small enterprises, which will make it another step for the development of small businesses.

Special attention was paid to social policy in this session. The law was approved, which equalized the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum. This will increase salaries in the budgetary sphere.

Valentina Matviyenko thanked her colleagues for their work. The autumn session of the Chamber will begin on September 26.
