03.07.2024

The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic supported at a plenary meeting in the second final reading today a package of government legislations relating to the development of the tourism industry in Pridnestrovie. Amendments have been made to the laws “On corporate income tax”, “On personal income tax”, “Special regime - simplified taxation system”. According to them, funds received by organizations, individuals and entrepreneurs in the form of grants (free subsidies) for the development of tourism in the PMR will be exempt from taxation: income tax, income tax, and revenue tax from January 1, 2025. Such grants from the Entrepreneurship Support Fund for the creation of rural tourism (agritourism) facilities in 2023 were issued to 2 legal entities and 10 individual entrepreneurs.

Support for rural tourism began in 2023, which was declared the Year of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas and rural tourism in Pridnestrovie. In particular, a total of 1 million 610 thousand rubles were allocated in the form of a grant from the republican budget for the creation of rural tourism (agritourism) facilities within the framework of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund. The best projects received them based on the results of the competition. The government has developed a set of measures to support and promote such projects in the future. There was among them tax exemption - a package of legislative initiatives adopted on July 3 by the Supreme Council in the second final reading. The new norm will come into force on January 1, 2025. The package of support measures includes exemption from customs duties on goods for agritourism, which people who have received grants purchase abroad and import into the territory of the PMR – this law-in-draft on amending the law “On Customs Tariffs” was adopted by the Supreme Council in the first reading today.

Victor Guzun emphasized that next year the results of such state support for agritourism will be analyzed and studied. The state will continue to support the development of rural tourism in Pridnestrovie if there are positive developments.
