Order of Honor for the 100th anniversary

The pride of the city of Dubossary, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, holder of the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, Natalia Mikhailovna Kurasova, celebrated her 100th anniversary on the 19th of February. The veteran was congratulated on this date by the delegation of the leadership of the city of Dubossary and Dubossary district, which included deputies of the Supreme Council Oleg Baev and Boris German.

The Head of the Dubossary State Administration Ruslan Chaban on behalf of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky presented the Order of Honor to Natalia Mikhailovna. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic noted in his congratulations that the veteran began his military career as part of the 1566th Yaroslavl Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment and heroically passed the front roads of Europe, having met the long-awaited Victory in Vienna.

Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and director of the Dubossary HPP Boris German expressed his congratulations.

The Deputy of the Supreme Council for the Dubossary region Oleg Baev noted in his congratulations that the life path of Natalia Mikhailovna is an example for many generations of Dubossary residents.

On the anniversary the team of the local history museum Dubossary presented to the founder of the museum Natalia Kurasova an album with memorable photographs, and the soloist of the Dubossary Department of Culture Ivan Uzun sang her favorite song for Natalia Mikhailovna.

Natalia Mikhailovna Kurasova was born in Yaroslavl. She took the oath in March 1943 and was enrolled in the 1566th anti-aircraft artillery regiment of Yaroslavl, where she served as an anti-aircraft gunner-rangefinder. She went through all the military roads of Europe with her artillery regiment. She was in Bucharest, Budapest, Belgrade. At the end of the war she served as a topographer. She met the victory in Vienna. She was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, was demobilized in August 1945. After the war, she came to Dubossary together with her husband Valentin Sergeevich Kurasov, who first worked as an engineer at the Dubossary hydroelectric power station, and then led it for many years.

Natalia Kurasova made an invaluable contribution to the creation of a local history museum in Dubossary, worked as deputy chairman of the Dubossary regional society for nature conservation many years and was engaged in environmental education of schoolchildren. Her merits in this industry were awarded a bronze medal at Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR.
