Optimization of Budget Expenditures

The position of parliamentarians who have made the relevant legislative initiatives- is to optimize the cost of the state by making adjustments to the law "On guarantees of the persons at the post of the President of PMR, Vice-President PMR, Chairman of the Supreme Council of PMR benefits ceased execution of powers, and their family members". Two alternative legislations were submitted to the deputy corps, one of which is authored by Oleg Vasilaty and Alexander Korshunov, the second - earlier proposed by Oleg Khorzhan. The initiative of Oleg Vasilaty and Alexander Korshunov was taken as the basis during the plenary session. The authors proposed to deprive the legal, social and other guarantees of the family members of the persons previously occupied the position of the President, the Vice-President and the Speaker of Parliament. The law-in-draft states changing the provision of state guarantees for the protection of persons occupying high positions, as well as the deletion of "special guarantees" such as getting a lump-sum compensation and provision of personnel staff.

The parliamentarian said that it was revealed in the course of studying this issue that prescribed in the law benefits for persons who have held high positions are not used in full.

As stated at the plenary session, the amount of savings resulting from the adoption of the proposed measures will be small; however, voters will solve the issue of the expediency of action of a large number of guarantees to the former leadership of the republic. This was stated by Deputy Oleg Khorzhan.

The legislative initiative that would abolish the guarantee of the former leadership of the republic, it was unanimously adopted by the deputies in the first reading. Work on the document will continue in preparation for the second reading.
