Olga Gukalenko - Honored Parliamentarian of Pridnestrovie

Olga Gukalenko, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Supreme Council of the PMR in the Russian Federation for inter-parliamentary cooperation, celebrates her anniversary today. Olga Gukalenko was awarded diploma of the Supreme Council of the PMR and the distinction "Honored Parliamentarian of the PMR" in honor of the 65th anniversary, for many years of conscientious work and a special contribution to the development and strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties between Pridnestrovie and Russia.

Olga Gukalenko is a versatile active public figure, and doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Education, laureate of the State Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation.

She headed a department at one of the faculties of the Pridnestrovian State University many years, was the director of the scientific and educational center of the Russian Academy of Education.

Olga Gukalenko devotes a lot of time to science. She is the author of over 300 works, including monographs, textbooks, teaching aids. She defended more than 25 candidates and doctors of sciences.

Olga Gukalenko joined the ranks of parliamentarians in 2005. She served as chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Family and Childhood in the IV convocation of the Supreme Council of the PMR.

Plenipotentiary Representative of the Supreme Council of the PMR in the Russian Federation on issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation since 2011. She actively cooperates with the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in this position including those representing the interests of Pridnestrovians. She speaks on behalf of the Pridnestrovian Parliament at all levels of government bodies of the Russian Federation on important socio-economic issues.
