Oleg Vasilaty, "It is important that children find positive emotions in sports"

The traditional children's football tournament was held among the teams participating in the republican championship and timed to the International Children's Day. Today women's teams of the younger age group from Grigoriopol, Doibany, Chobruchi and Tiraspol came to the field.

The tournament was attended by the deputy of the Supreme Council, the Chairman of the Committee for State Regional Policy Oleg Vasilaty. Welcoming the young athletes, he wished them good play and honest victories. The parliamentarian is sure: children's sport must be supported at the state level, and the younger generation should be attracted to a healthy lifestyle.

The development of mass sports should become a priority direction of domestic state policy. This position was expressed by the participants of the round table, which took place in the Supreme Council in mid-April on the initiative of the parliamentary committees on state regional policy and on public associations, sport, information and youth policy. At the end of the meeting, a resolution was adopted at which the directions for supporting mass sports were outlined. In particular, the representatives of the Republican Football Federation spoke about the need to develop, above all, game sports. As a pilot project, they proposed to revive the soccer tournament "The Leather Ball" popular in the Soviet times and hold among the schoolchildren of the republic. The parliamentarians supported the proposed initiative. It was decided to coordinate the holding of competitions with the executive authorities, both republican and local.

The vice-president of the Pridnestrovian Football Federation, Sergei Ursul, told the parliamentary press service about preparations for the scheduled competitions In a break between the matches of today's tournament.

On Sunday, a children's football tournament will be held among boys. 12 teams from all over Pridnestrovie will take part in it.
