The Memorial of Glory after reconstruction was opened in the village of Chobruchi, Slobodzeya District, on the occasion of the Republic Day. The monument is over 60 years old. It was overhauled for the first time: the foundation and walls, which had already begun to collapse, were restored, and granite slabs were replaced. The work was completed at the end of August; by May 9, they did not have time to carry out everything planned.
Soldiers and officers of the Red Army, who liberated the village from the Nazi invaders, are buried at the Memorial of Glory in Chobruchi. The names of fellow villagers who died at the fronts of the Great Patriotic War are carved on the granite slabs. After the reconstruction there were more names.
The Deputy emphasized, that the most important thing is that there were many young people at the grand opening of the Memorial of Glory after reconstruction. Pupils of one of the Chobruchy schools organized a memory watch at the Eternal Flame.
