Legislative initiative of deputies of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva and Oleg Petrik on amending the law "On Road Safety" was considered in the course of the plenary session in the second reading. The essence of the proposed amendments was that State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate openly record violations of traffic rules: using only official vehicles with the blue flashing light on in stationary mode. Hearings were held earlier on this issue in the Supreme Council. The dialogue took place with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Motor Vehicle Inspectorate PMR, representatives of the prosecutor's office, the judicial community, the service of judicial executors, and transport companies.
Oleg Petrik, Deputy Chairman of the Legislation Committee, co-author of the law-in-draft, recalled the current law that prohibits the use of photo and video recording devices in the absence of a special sign.
The parliamentarian added that information on the implementation of photo and video recordings on certain sections of roads should appear on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at least 24 hours before the control measures.
The law-in-draft was supported by the deputy corps and adopted in the second, final reading.
Today, the Government’s initiative amending the Code of Administrative Offenses has also been adopted as law. It concerns the provision of the opportunity to send a notice of fines imposed for an administrative offense, not only by mail, but also by SMS message, email or bank notification.
The adopted laws are sent for signature to the President.
