Alexander Korshunov, “Our people managed to keep memory and honor”

A large military-patriotic holiday was organized at the territory of the military camp of the Operational Group of the Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie. It was visited by leaders of the republic, thousands of Tiraspol citizens and guests of the capital. In memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland, fresh flowers were laid at the eternal flame, a prayer was served by the Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa. Celebrating Victory Day with Russian peacekeepers is a good tradition. They prepared a rich program for the guests of the festival, songs of the war years were performed by “Dniester” vocal ensemble. Everyone was treated with hot tea and porridge. According to Dmitry Zelenkov, the head of the RGRV, it was prepared for 8 thousand people. Real army bread was baked at the local bakery.

There is a large exhibition of weapons from the times of the Great Patriotic War, retro cars, military equipment at the territory of the military camp. It was possible to get acquainted with the life, weapons, equipment, kitchen of the partisan detachment in the partisan village recreated in the original size.
