Festive events dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol were held in Slobodzeya and Slobodzeya district - thematic round tables, meetings in rural museums and schools. This is according to the press service of “The Obnovlenie” party. The meeting in Slobodzeya gathered people whose life was closely connected with the Komsomol. Galina Antyufeeva, vice-speaker, chairman of “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal), became its participant. At one time, the parliamentarian was the secretary of the Komsomol committee of the College named after Frunze.
The Komsomol Day was celebrated in Dubossary. On the initiative of “The Obnovlenie”, a memorial plaque was installed at the Dubossarskaya HPP as a token of gratitude to the Komsomol builders who built the enterprise in the first half of the 1950s to the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol. The solemn event was attended by parliamentarians Peter Pasat and Oleg Bayev.
The heyday of the construction of hydroelectric power plants in the USSR occurred in the 1940 and 1950. Under the Komsomol banners, the Dubossary hydroelectric station was also created. According to the director of the hydropower plant Boris Hermann, a number of employees in the construction of the station reached 3.5 thousand people in 1953.Komsomol brigades were created.
The appearance of hydroelectric power station gave impetus to the development of the city. Housing for station employees, kindergartens, medical facilities, houses of culture, and related production were built.
The guest of honor at the event is Vladimir Kostenko, a participant in the construction of hydropower plants since 1951.He said that at the construction site “people of all nationalities of the USSR worked in a cheerful, amicable manner” and that time is remembered as the brightest page of working life.
Oleg Bayev, a deputy of the Supreme Council from the Dubossary district, director of the Tiraspol wine-brandy factory Kvint, became the secretary of the Tiraspol city Komsomol at the age of 19. The meeting participants laid fresh flowers to the memorial plaque.
