In recent years, a number of legislative acts have been adopted in the republic, designed to enhance the prestige of military service and the call to "Defend the Homeland." A lot has been done to solve this important state task. First of all, from a year and a half to a year, the service life was reduced. Secondly, an alternative service system was introduced in the legal sphere of Pridnestrovie. Thirdly, conscripts are currently doing military service in working hours, that is, they are located at the military unit from 8:00 to 18:00. Fourth, the timing of the call has been adjusted. Soldiers are given the opportunity to serve and study in parallel, some categories of students, future doctors, for example are given a long delay.
During today's plenary session, the next step has been taken towards increasing the authority of military service. Deputies of the Supreme Council in the second and final reading adopted legislations, introducing amendments and additions to two laws - “On the state civil service of the PMR” and “On universal military duty and military service”. Deputies of the parliamentary committee on public associations, sports, information and youth policies Igor Buga, Andrei Safonov and Ruslan Gareev acted as authors of legislative initiatives. The theme of military service is interlinked with the theme of public service. The authors, pursuing the goal of creating additional conditions for the growth of the prestige and attractiveness of military service, suggested that a mandatory condition for a person to hold the position of civil servant is to undergo urgent military service.
As it was noted in the explanatory note to the legislations, a similar rule is valid in the legislation of the Russian Federation.
The parliament voted unanimously for the adoption of laws. The provisions of the new law will enter into force on January 1, 2020 and will extend their effect to persons born in 2001 and younger.
