More than 30 public associations of Pridnestrovie have signed a statement in connection with the energy crisis. The activists emphasize their deep concern about the current situation.
Representatives of public organizations are calling on the Moldovan leadership to fulfill their promises and not to impede the supply of Russian gas to Pridnestrovie as reported by the website of the News of Pridnestrovie agency.
Pridnestrovie has been facing one of the most difficult challenges in its history over the past three weeks, according to the statement. The lack of gas supplies has led to an energy deficit, and this has deprived people of heat, hot water and electricity in the middle of winter. The country's economy has been hit hard: enterprises are forced to stop working, and the social sector is forced to limit the provision of public services.
They state: the Pridnestrovian public will resist attempts by certain actors to use the energy crisis for political purposes and will contribute to the protection of the stability and sovereignty of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
