Communication with Voters

19.12.2014

Parliamentarians, following the plan scheduled for this year regarding visit to the towns and districts of the republic, visited all parts of Pridnestrovie. The purpose of the tour – is communication with voters. Bendery was the final point in this tour. Its residents talked about the pressing issues with Speaker of the Parliament Mikhail Burla and Alexander Korshunov - deputies representing the interests of Bendery at the Supreme Council.

Both young and the older generation participated in the dialogue of the people and its elected representatives. Among the latter – was an honorary citizen of the city of Bender Leonid Litvinenko.

They talked about the advisability of return to the cultivation of tobacco and perfume and cosmetic crops (mint, lavender, sage), demand for them is always great in foreign markets. It makes sense and, most importantly, an opportunity to revive the production of glass and tin containers.

Speaking about the external pressure on our businesses, the participants talked about the necessity to create enabling domestic environment for them. In the context of this conversation, the absolute lack of understanding among residents of Bendery was the news that the Government acted strongly against the proposal of Peter Pasat to create a favorable tax environment for chemical and footwear industries at least for three years. Taking into account the fact that a great number of Pridnestrovian enterprises profiled in the production of shoes is located in Bendery, the law-in-draft is of special social significance for the residents. The initiative was adopted in the second and final reading, but almost simultaneously with its focus on the signature of the president, the Supreme Council received the decision of the Tiraspol City Court to ban work on the project of the law as long as the government consider a lawsuit to invalidate the decision on the adoption of the initiative in the first reading.

Despite a large number of issues that had to be discussed at the meeting of parliamentarians with voters from Bendery the conversation was ended on a positive note. After exchanging Happy New Year greetings, the parties have experienced pre-holiday atmosphere to the sound of Christmas carols performed by one of the residents of the Pridnestrovian glorious town.
