It will be possible to apply for a pension in advance

18.05.2022

The Supreme Council adopted in the final reading the amendments to the law "On State Pension Provision of Citizens in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic". The changes make it possible to apply to the Social Insurance Fund for registration of an old-age pension in advance – one month before reaching the age that gives the right to a pension. The authors of the law-in-draft are deputies of the Supreme Council Grigory Dyachenko and Sergey Cheban, who initiated the adjustment of the legislation based on the requests of voters. Since in practice the process of obtaining a pension is often delayed, and many begin to receive it and the required benefits only a few months after reaching retirement age. The initiators of the changes proposed to give people the right to apply to the social security service for 3 months initially, but taking into account the opinion of the Government, the period was reduced by adopting the relevant amendments in the second reading.

If additional documents are needed, then within three months from the day the right to a pension arises, it is possible to bring the missing certificates and thereby receive a recalculation. The amendments to the law “On State Pension Provision of Citizens in the PMR” adopted in the final reading were sent to the President for signature. The new law will come into force 14 days after its official publication.
