The Appeal of the Supreme Council of the PMR to the President of Russia

The PMR Parliament adopted draft resolution "On appeal in connection with the current situation in the sphere of vaccination against the COVID-19 virus." The document will be sent to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with request to assist in saving lives of Russian citizens and compatriots living in the PMR, and in organizing the prompt delivery of the Russian vaccine to Pridnestrovie.

Numerous appeals of Pridnestrovians, public organizations, heads of towns and districts of the republic were the reason for the document development.

The Supreme Council in the appeal to the leadership of Russia expresses gratitude for the assistance provided by the Russian Federation to the people of Pridnestrovie. The visits of Rospotrebnadzor specialists, online consultations with Russian experts and provision of test systems for determination of coronavirus as humanitarian aid have become invaluable support in countering the first and second waves of morbidity, the document says. The Supreme Council Deputies focus on the critical situation in the health care of the republic, provoked by the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The rates of daily morbidity and mortality have increased, coronavirus hospitals are 97% full, the increase in cases is twice the number of recovered patients. Vaccination at the moment is the only way to stop the spread of coronavirus and save lives, according to the Parliament.

The draft resolution of the Supreme Council "On the appeal in connection with the evolving situation in the sphere of vaccination against the COVID-19 virus" was prepared by the parliamentary commission on foreign policy.

The PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the meeting of the Foreign Policy Commission, he supported the appeal of the parliamentarians to the Russian leadership.

Copies of the appeal addressed to the President of the Russian Federation will be sent to the Federation Council and the State Duma of Russia.
