The buildings of the two-story caserns of the Tiraspol garrison and another one of the Military Inspectorate of the PMR Ministry of Defense were put into operation after a major renovation on the eve of Defender of the Homeland Day. The solemn ceremony of commissioning of the facility was attended by PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, Chairman of the Government Alexander Rosenberg and Minister of Defense Oleg Obruchkov.
The roof, foreside, heating, water and electricity systems were updated. Classrooms and offices of teaching and officer staff have been renovated. New furniture and related accessories were purchased during 2023. The surrounding area has been landscaped: the parade ground and paths are paved with paving slabs. The facility was brought into proper condition using funds from the Capital Investment Fund, according to the presidential website.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that a lot has been done in terms of creating comfortable conditions for serving over the past few years, but there are still objects that require attention. The work will continue. The President spoke about noticeably improved uniforms for military personnel, provision of high-quality food and allowances. The President emphasized that the army must keep up with the times in its development and meet the demands and realities of our time. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the fact that the task of the Armed Forces is to protect and ensure the security of the Pridnestrovian people, and the state will do everything possible to create decent conditions for service. The building of the renovated buildings was consecrated by Archbishop of Tiraspol and Dubossary Sawa.
Another red ribbon was cut today at the renovated building of the Military Inspectorate of the PMR Ministry of Defense. The unit celebrated its 30th anniversary last December. The building did not undergo major repairs. Roofing and facade work was carried out here, window and door units, communications, and fencing were replaced in 2023. All premises have been renovated. The courtyard and area around the facility have been transformed. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to those who were involved in the repair work, and noted the most distinguished ones with a Letter of Gratitude and a Certificate from the PMR President. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that decent living conditions are important both for people in uniform serving at this facility and for those serving sentences.
