To secure road traffic

The President signed two laws previously adopted by the deputy corps that relate to road traffic.

The first legislative act amended the law "On Road Safety". Officers of the State traffic inspectorate are ordered to be in uniform when carrying out their duties and use exclusively official vehicles with the blue flashing light on. At the same time, during daylight hours, it should be located on visible sections of highways and use light signaling, and in the dark, on illuminated sections of highways, using light signaling and side lights. There are exceptions to these requirements - the period of special events.

The law states that the fixation of traffic violations using special technical means operating in the automatic mode, which have the functions of photo, video recording, is allowed on official vehicles in stationary mode. It is forbidden to install and operate the technical means of photo, video recording without equipping the corresponding sections of roads with the information signs "Photo and video recording". They should be installed at a distance of at least 50 meters from the place of special technical equipment working in automatic mode. The coverage of such an information sign is to the nearest intersection.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs no later than a day before the start of the control measures on the official website publishes information on the installation sites of stationary and mobile technical equipment for photo and video recording.

Outside of settlements, it is allowed to record violations of the Rules of the Road using means of photo, video recording on official vehicles with colorographic schemes applied and flashing beacons turned on in motion. In the case of a violation of traffic rules, the traffic militia officers are obliged to stop it and immediately protocol on an administrative offense directly at the place.

The Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses" entered into force after signing by the president. It allows citizens to know about fines for traffic violations by e-mail, SMS, as well as notifications from the bank. The car owner needs to pre-select the notification method by registering on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Additional discount of 10% of the amount of the assigned fine is provided with such notification methods.
