On the centers of culture and education

Legislative initiative of parliamentarian Galina Antyufeeva and Oleg Belyakov was adopted in the first reading in the course of the plenary session. By improving the law "On Libraries" and "On bodies of local authorities, local government and public administration in Pridnestrovie", the deputies proposed to maintain the rural libraries that can be called centers of culture and education. There are 87 of them in the republic today. Every year, there is a decrease in the number of libraries there. One reason for this - is an emergency condition of the buildings where they are located.

According to the amendment liquidation or reorganization of the municipal library, located in rural areas, will be permitted only with the consent of its inhabitants. This decision lawmakers was based on appeals of citizens.
