On Appeal to the Guarantor of the Constitution

Deputies – participants of plenary of the Supreme Council adopted a resolution "On appeal to the President". The document requested to sign the law "On amendments to the law "On Customs Tariff". Let’s remember that in late last year, deputies made amendments to the existing law on customs tariff, according to which the term of entry into the territory of Pridnestrovie vehicles older than 10 years is extended for another year. However, the President didn’t sign passed by parliament law and sent it to the legislature for reconsideration.

This year, parliamentarians have overcome veto imposed to the law by the President. However, after the time allotted by Constitution allowed for signing the law, and it is 14 days, it has not been signed, has not been published, which means that its provisions do not take effect. In this situation, the deputies adopted a resolution, once again appealed to the president to sign the law.

The official representative of the President in the legislature, 1 st Vice Justice Minister Irina Barbarosh, addressing the participants of the plenary session reminded that earlier the President proposed the creation of a conciliation commission for the settlement of disputes.

Deputy Oleg Khorzhan proposed colleagues appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding not signing by the President of the law "On amendments to the Law of the PMR "On Customs Tariff". However, a majority vote of members of parliament voted for the appeal to the president to sign the above mentioned law.
