Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba took part in the International scientific-practical conference on "Development of the electoral law and procedure at the present stage: Problems and Prospects". The Central Election Commission of PMR and PSU – are the organizers. Among the participants there are also heads of local representative bodies, legal scholars from different universities of the country, members of the CEC and its Scientific Advisory Board, the territorial election commissions. The head of the CEC Elena Gorodetskaya and the rector of PSU Galina Sandutsa made opening remarks.
Russian lawyers: a member of the Russian Central Election Commission Alexander Klyukin and Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Management RANHiGS Catherine Shugrina joined to discussion of this important aspect of the legislative by means of video conferencing. They on- line shared Russian electoral practice and experience with Pridnestrovians.
Pridnestrovian legislation, including electoral, is moving towards harmonization with the Russian. In this regard, great value for Pridnestrovians plays elected experience of Russia and opinion of Russian scientists.
Vice-speaker of parliament Alexander Shcherba spoke at the conference in the report on the necessity of the use of the Russian experience in the electoral sphere, but taking into account the specifics of our republic.
As part of the international scientific-practical conference "Development of the electoral law and procedure at the present stage Problems and Prospects" they also talked about various aspects of the electoral process: a direct suffrage, the role of international observers, use of the electoral process in the capacity of the Internet. It is encouraging that in the second part of the conference included presentations on legal topics of students of the state university, other educational institutions of the republic, including schoolchildren.
