Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov and his deputy Galina Antyufeeva were on a working visit to Moscow last week. The leadership of the Pridnestrovian Parliament at the invitation of the Russian side took part in the opening of the XXXI International Christmas Educational Readings and in the work of the plenary session of the XI Christmas Parliamentary Meetings. The Meetings were held in the Public Chamber of Russia, with the leadership of Rossotrudnichestvo, with deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The topics of distortion of historical truth and preservation of peace, issues of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere were raised. They talked about the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens and compatriots living in Pridnestrovie.

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva commented on the results of her visit to Moscow today after the plenary session.

During the meetings, the leadership of the Supreme Council raised the issue of raising salaries for health workers and education of the PMR, in particular, the Pridnestrovian delegation asked for support in this.

The leadership of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in the course of the Meetings with Russian deputies expressed concern about the changes to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova that involve the introduction of a number of articles, including for separatism. The Moldovan Parliament plans to adopt the changes in the second reading in February. Pridnestrovie hopes that Russia as a guarantor country in the negotiation process will be able to influence the situation.
