The parliamentarians considered the legislative initiative "On Amending the Law of PMR "On some government measures aimed at improving the macro-economic and socio-economic stability of PMR". The law-in-draft was presented for consideration of the Supreme Council last year by MP V convocation Anatoly Dirun. The author proposed to prevent the establishment of prices for socially important goods and tariffs for utility services provided to the population and organizations of public sector, above the level determined as of January 1, 2014. The reason for the initiative was the development of the difficult economic situation in the republic and, as a consequence, reducing the welfare of the population.
The chairman of parliamentary committee on local authorities, local government and public utility Oleg Vasilaty noted during the discussion that the law-in-draft has not lost relevance today. The deputy said that since March 1, 2015 salaries to state employees and pensions were paid not in full, with the result that significantly increased the social tension in society.
Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee and price activity Vitaly Ulitka noted that in addition to the non-payment of salaries and pensions in the amount of 100% the socially vulnerable population has been reduced by 7% on the level of the tariff for energy services, heating and gas supply.
The law-in-draft by majority vote was supported by Anatoly Dirun. In the opinion of the relevant committee, in preparation of the document for the second reading it is necessary to discuss a date for the fixing of prices and tariffs for public services provided by the public and public sector organizations. Oleg Vasilaty considers it appropriate to freeze tariffs at the level of March 1, 2015.
