On the difficulties and potential of Pridnestrovian economy

Economic aspects of the relationship between PMR and the Russian Federation were among the priority ones in the saturated program of the stay of Russian parliamentarians in Pridnestrovie. They were also discussed during a joint working meeting on the topic "Expansion of trade, economic and financial cooperation between Russia and Pridnestrovie: problems and prospects". At the same table - State Duma Deputy, member of the CIS Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Artem Turov, Prime Minister Alexander Martynov, the Supreme Council deputies Alexander Korshunov, Viktor Guzun, Petr Pasat, Vadim Doni, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, head of the central bank. The conversation is about the current state of Pridnestrovian economy, its prospects, and Russian support.

The Chairman of the Government Alexander Martynov, told the Russian guest about the "inheritance" from the former governance, the first positive results and difficulties, including the execution of the budget, received from the previous Government. In this complex social and economic situation, Pridnestrovie hopes for the help and support of Russia. At present, Russian auditors are working in the republic assessing the level of state spending. Assistance in the development of "road maps" to improve the business climate in the country is provided to local specialists by the Russian Association for Strategic Studies. They hope Pridnestrovie receive targeted loans from Russia.

State Duma deputy Artem Turov assured Pridnestrovian colleagues that Russia will continue to support compatriots, because "our people, our voters live here". The Russian guest announced his intention, after returning to Moscow, to work out the issues raised by Pridnestrovian leadership in Russian ministries and departments.

Alexander Korshunov, head of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance, commented on the conversation with his Russian counterpart to the press service of the Supreme Council.
