Museums, libraries, clubs, cinemas, art schools and theater – all of this is administered by the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage. Today, the Head of the State Service Maria Kyrmyz announced a report on the results of activities for 2021. The meeting was traditionally held online. It was attended by the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, as well as the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and the Head of the relevant Committee on Education, Science, Culture, Public Associations, Sports, Information and Youth Policy Igor Buga.

As before, the Civil Service considers the promotion of the best examples of classical and contemporary art to be its main tasks. Museums and entire museum complexes operate in the republic. Preparatory work has already been carried out within the framework of the first stage of the creation of the State Museum of History and Local Lore. The stock potential has been studied, thematic and exposition plans have been worked out.

As part of the implementation of the State Development Strategy, several large objects of the department were repaired at the same time at the expense of the Capital Investment Fund. Among them is the Pridnestrovian State Art Museum. There is now a new roof. Boiler equipment was replaced in the Pridnestrovian State Theater of Drama and Comedy named after Natalia Aronetskaya. Several district houses of culture have been put in order, and the Bendery Museum of Local History and Local Lore has undergone a serious reconstruction. However, there is still much work to be done in this direction. Maria Kyrmyz noted, almost half of the 40 municipal museum institutions are not heated, and some need major repairs. The situation is similar in many libraries of the republic.

As for the monuments, the state allocated in 2021 more than 2 million rubles for the repair of the capital's monument to Alexander Suvorov, the park-monument named after Dmitry Rodin in Chobruchi, Slobodzeya District, Literary and Memorial Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union P. Vershigora in the Kamenka village of Severinovka. The list of immovable objects of cultural heritage of Pridnestrovie was replenished with several more items last year. Among them there is the building of the former dacha of Flemmer. Repair work is already planned there for 2022, the need for which the deputies of the Supreme Council from the city of Bendery have repeatedly spoken about.

Maria Kyrmyz recalled that now more than two thousand different monuments are under state protection, some of which need to be repaired, and 12 are in disrepair.

The President considers financial investments in the sphere of culture necessary. However, he added, plans and estimates have to be adjusted due to new circumstances. A number of development programs are suspended. Nevertheless, culture, history, traditions, creativity, art are the most important components of the life of society, shaping it, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

Due to pandemic restrictions, the Head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage noted, the program of events was repeatedly adjusted. Many of them had to be abandoned, some were carried out online. Therefore, open concert venues have acquired special significance. These are the Catherine Park and the Lions Arena in Tiraspol and the Alexander Nevsky Park in Bendery, for example. In general, the number of concerts and performances has decreased compared to pre-pandemic times. Although the interest of Pridnestrovians in the events organized and carried out by organizations subordinate to the State Service for Culture is still high.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky recommended paying special attention to popularizing the culture, traditions and customs of the peoples who today live in the territory of Pridnestrovie. The activities of the entire State Service for Culture in the global sense should be aimed at preserving peace.

The PMR President drew attention to the fact that people with disabilities should also participate in cultural events both as spectators and as speakers. As part of the Equal Opportunities program, Maria Kyrmyz said, people with disabilities receive orders for paintings, ramps and lifts are installed for them in all cultural institutions. There is a traditional festival of creativity "Tsvetik-Semitsvetik Flower" in the republic.

With regard to cooperation with the Supreme Council together with parliamentarians, the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage has prepared a number of legislative acts. Among them, Maria Kyrmyz noted, important for the department are the laws “On the Unified State Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage Objects of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”, “On Approval of the State Target Program “Preservation of Immovable Cultural Heritage Objects of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Requiring Urgent Repair”, as well as “On Folk Art Crafts and crafts".
