On the prospects of the tax system

The need to improve the tax system was discussed not for the first time in the republic. Last significant tax reform in Pridnestrovie took place in 2000, when five types of taxes were abolished. The Law "On Tax on income of organizations", which entered into force on 1 April 2002 was adopted in order to further optimize the tax. Several years ago the Government proposed move to a new tax system, which implies the introduction of three major taxes - income tax, VAT and property of legal entities. Parliamentarians consider it necessary to come to the realization of the reform gradually, by means of calculation method.

The Parliamentarians also emphasized the fact that the industrial sector is currently not evolving; evidence of this is the reduction in employment in this sector.

Alexander Martynov said that the parliament in early June will discuss the concept of budget and tax policy.
