On the PMR Citizen Passport

13.02.2025

The Law "On the Passport of a Citizen of the PMR" was adopted by the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on February 13, 2002.

The first passport of a citizen of the PMR was issued on October 1, 2001, based on the decree of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic dated May 11, 2001.

Before that, starting in the mid-1990s, citizens were issued a paper insert in addition to the existing passport of another state (or the USSR passport of 1974). The insert indicated affiliation with the citizenship of the PMR.

What documents are needed to obtain a passport, in what cases is a passport considered invalid, where to go if someone else's document is found? The answers to these questions are in the information cards of the press service of the Supreme Council.
