About the hard life and times

05.06.2015

Schedule of citizens’ reception by the Chairman of the Supreme Council Mikhail Burla in recent months has become permanently "broken" - meetings with voters are more frequent than terms of regulations. This is due to the desire of citizens to personally meet with the Speaker of Parliament, to receive information on matters of mutual interest first hand, actual help and support. Such applications have recently become more and more often, the most vulnerable categories of the population retirees come to the reception more often than others. This is due to a decrease of one-third of the payment of pensions and salaries of public sector employees. Their plight has been going on for the fifth month. That is forcing retirees to apply to a variety of authorities in order to obtain actual material aid. That's the current reception started with two such applications.

Aksenia Antonovna Smirnova, a widow, single retired person, no children, so the hope for support immediate family is not necessary. She is ready to get help in the form of minimum food basket, as paid pensions are not enough any food or drugs, or utilities. In 1961, at the request of the sisters, she moved to Tiraspol from Russia, worked for the enterprises of light industry and canned foods. Years of life, health, she gave to the benefit of the country, became a hometown, now - miserable existence, she is not expecting the aid from anybody, but the state. Furthermore debts for housing and communal are accumulated.

Unconventionally - communicating of Mikhail Burla with Valentina Smirnova started from poetry reading. There is thanks to Russia, Russians, Vladimir Putin for the support provided to Pridnestrovie, hope to improve the situation, the fact that all the adversities and difficulties we can overcome, if we are together with Mother Russia in poetic lines of the pensioner. Chairman of the Supreme Council promised member of Women's Union of Pridnestrovie, Commander of the Order of Merit Valentina Smirnova to pass these poetic lines to deputies of the State Duma, the Federation Council senators, members of the Presidential Administration, which is scheduled to meet with the members of the parliamentary delegation next week.

However, Valentina Smirnova also complained about the hard life and times. She receives Russian pension, which upon conversion of the devaluation of the ruble in Russia, significantly reduced in size. As she gets Russian pension, it is not entitled to any Pridnestrovian or the Russian supplement to pensions, which size is the same (100 rubles) or the award for Order of Merit PMR. Moreover, she has to pay for utilities prescribed for her son's apartment, which is already 14 years old who does not live in here (working in Russia, but there is no registration there), which is an additional burden on the meager budget of the pensioner.

In response to a request of the pensioner, the head of the legislative agency of the republic Mikhail Burla promised to assist in the installation of meters to Valentina Smirnova.
