On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, the republic remembers soldiers-internationalists who combat international terrorism. Many of those who showed courage and patriotism did not return to their homeland. Alexander Kolesnik, a resident of Tiraspol, did not return. He is one of those who died, fulfilling his international duty in Afghanistan. The memory of the soldier is immortalized by a memorial plaque on the building of his native capital school №4. Today, there was a minute of silence for the fallen heroes, talking about courage, homeland, war and peace.
The parliamentarian introduced the younger generation of the warrior-internationalist Valentin Nikolaevich Zholumsky. The man who suffered the heaviest injuries during the period of hostilities in Afghanistan, he is among those who today personifies heroism. As Igor Buga noted, thanks to such people, he managed to defeat the terrorism of the late 80s.
