On the eve of the Constitution Day of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, young people and deputies of various levels debated about the state structure. The dialogue was held within the framework of the round table on the topic "The main law of the country". Senior member, students of the PSU and a branch of the Moscow Institute of Entrepreneurship and Law met with Deputy of the Supreme Council, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation Grigory Dyachenko and Deputy of the City Council Igor Edinak. The issues of organization of power, electoral law and process, realization of citizens' rights and freedoms, functioning of local self-government in the republic were mentioned.
The deputy of the Supreme Council, Gregory Dyachenko, reminded the youth that according to the current Constitution, adopted on a national referendum on December 24, 1995, there are three independent branches of power in the country, told about the activities of courts of different instances.
According to Grigory Dyachenko, the most important issues of the life of the state, such as the introduction of private ownership of land (2003), are transferred to the PMR for a nationwide referendum.
The deputy, answering the students' question about the order of adoption of amendments to the constitution - hard or flexible - seems to him the most preferable, said about the importance of preserving the fundamental principles of society's life, its values, Grigory Dyachenko supposes that there should be no flexibility in matters related to a change in the system of relationships between people, traditional for this region.
Representatives of the youth within the framework of the round table made presentations. They mentioned various aspects of the state system. A student of the third year of the law faculty of the PGU Ekaterina Chernenko, talking about political parties as subjects of the democratic process, expressed her opinion on the need to move to a proportional electoral system, which is used in many states, including Russia.
Deputies, commenting on the speech, recalled that the topic of transition from the majority system to proportional or mixed in Pridnestrovie was discussed repeatedly, but it was decided in the end not to change the current state of affairs.
Grigory Dyachenko noted at the same time that the parties under the legislation of Pridnestrovie can be participants in the election campaign, they can nominate and support their candidates.
Deputies wished future lawyers and journalists more courageous to assert their rights and the rights of other people, starting with simple, everyday issues, such as, for example, repairing a student hostel.
Representatives of the law faculty of the PGU were asked to intensify the work of the student legal advice operating in the university, which gives excellent professional practice. The guys were also invited to attend the deputies' receptions of citizens, where a variety of raised problems.
