November elections to the PMR Supreme Council will be held in 33 constituencies

18.03.2020

A new scheme for cutting the constituencies where Pridnestrovians will vote at the end of November this year was developed by the Central Election Commission of the Republic. The number of constituencies has decreased. This is due to the fact that the number of deputies in Parliament has been reduced - from 43 to 33 people. Corresponding changes were made to the Constitution in August 2019.

412 437 voters are registered in the republic. The average representation rate per deputy of the Supreme Council due to the reduction in the number of constituencies increased to 12498 voters.

On the territory of the city of Bendery, 6 constituencies will be formed, in Grigoriopol district and Grigoriopol - 3, in Dubossary district and Dubossary - 2, in Kamenka district and Kamenka - 2, in Rybnitsa district and Rybnitsa - 5, in Slobodzeya district and Slobodzeya - 6 , in Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk - 9 constituencies.

On November 29, on a single voting day, Pridnestrovians will elect deputies of the Supreme and local councils. For the convenience of voters, the CEC combined the circuit of districts for elections to the PMR Supreme Council with the borders of districts for elections to local authorities. Voting stations in most districts remained at their previous addresses.

The Resolution of the PMR Supreme Council “On Approving the Scheme of Forming Electoral Districts for the Elections of Deputies of the PMR Supreme Council of the seventh convocation”, adopted today in the course of the plenary meeting, will enter into force on September 3, 2020. Starting from this day, according to the Electoral Code, an election campaign will begin in Pridnestrovie.
