New anthem for Bendery

Bendery is a legendary city with a unique history. The heroism of the Bendery, real patriots of their native land, is sung in the hymn Bendery, created for the 610th anniversary of the city.

An open competition for the creation of the anthem was announced last winter. The 15 compositions presented, the expert committee selected one. The authors are Deputy of the Supreme Council Oleg Petrik and Anatoly Petrik his father the excellent cultural worker of the Moldavian SSR.

Anatoly Nikolaevich first wrote the music, together with his son who wrote the text. According to the authors, the words were written at the call of the heart. The text of the anthem Bendery is meaningful, with a deep meaning. Music is dynamic, inviting, solemn. Then the work had to be finalized. Alla Melnichuk, Director of the Capital Joint Museum, member of the Writer Union of the PMR, joined the editor. The authors reacted to constructive criticism with all responsibility. The anthem for the first time sounded in celebration of the day of the city.

Anatoly Petrik is a music teacher and at the same time geography with many years of experience, the concertmaster of the Viorica ensemble. He is not the first time composing patriotic works, tried himself in writing the anthem of the republic. In 1993, Anatoly Nikolayevich and his students became the winners of the contest of a song, first in the city and in the republic, and then the laureates of the Moscow stage of a similar All-Russian competition. Strict jury chose the author's work, recreating the tragic events in Bendery in 1992.

After the hymn of the city of Bendery was approved at the session of the local city council, it will be performed at all official city events. The authors are sure: the new anthem will surely appeal to the Bendery people will unite them too.
