New format for relationships at all levels

22.03.2021

The Pridnestrovian parliamentary-government delegation worked in Moscow last week. The Head of the delegation, the PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, following the results of his working visit, said: the meetings in Moscow will give a start to new relationships between various structures and government bodies of Russia and Pridnestrovie.

Alexander Korshunov told in an interview to the parliamentary press service that a large number of meetings took place at different levels and at different sites during the week: the State Duma, the Federation Council, ministries and departments, the United Russia party faction and a round table at which Russian politicians gathered and representatives of the legislative and executive branches of Government, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. Representatives of our delegation raised issues that are of concern to Pridnestrovians today at all venues. First of all, it is of course the fight against the pandemic: the availability of vaccines, medicines, medical equipment, ambulances.

The main goal of the parliamentary-governmental delegation of the PMR was to participate in the working meeting at the round table dedicated to Pridnestrovie. The event took place at the site of the State Duma Committee for CIS countries. The representatives of our delegation informed their colleagues about difficulties that Pridnestrovie is experiencing in modern conditions. As a result of the round table a draft decision was adopted. The State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs will consider all the amendments received within a week, and the final document will be sent to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council, the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Russian Federation.

Alexander Korshunov noted that the PMR economy and agrarians suffered heavy losses due to the drought. As a result, the budget of the republic did not receive large financial resources. All this will be reflected in the final decision of the round table. One of the main points of this document will be a proposal to sign a protocol on mutual cooperation and commonwealth at a high level.

This protocol will become a target program and guideline for all government bodies of the PMR and Russia in relations. Each ministry and department will clearly understand what needs to be done and in which direction to implement this or that assistance in interaction.

Work on the formation of this document will begin after the decision of the round table is sent to the relevant government bodies of the Russian Federation. Alexander Korshunov expressed hope that within a year it will be signed, after which the interaction between Russia and Pridnestrovie will take on a new format.
